Condensed Milk Bread

Dough:
375g (3 cups) all-purpose flour
7g (2-1/4 tsp) instant dry yeast
42g (3 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted.
2 tbsp sugar
250ml (1 cup) warm milk
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp sweetened condensed milk or more for a sweeter bread.

Mixture:
2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp unsalted butter.
Mix well

Topping: walnuts, raisins/craisins, almonds, etc.
1 egg yolk to apply on the dough

Baking temperature: 180°C upper-lower (top-bottom) heat.
Baking time: 30 minutes. An oven may vary.
Pan size: 18 cm square pan.
If your pan is not a non-stick pan, please use parchment paper or grease with butter.

Methods for the dough:
  1. Put all the dough ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Stir and mix until smooth about 5 to 8 minutes. We can use a mixer. The dough is very soft and sticky.
  2. Cover and rest for 90 minutes at a warm place.
  3. Put on the counter/ work surface with flour to handle the sticky dough.
  4. Gather into a ball and divide it into 12 pieces. Shape into small balls.
  5. Flatten the dough into an oval. Spread butter mixture on the dough.
  6. Roll up into a sausage shape. Make this shape for 8 dough. For the rest of 4 dough make lattice style cuts
  7. Put 4 dough in a non-stick square pan 18 cm. 
  8. Wrap the next 4 dough with the lattice dough and put on top of the previous dough in the pan.
  9. Apply the remaining butter mixture on the dough and apply the egg yolk.
  10. Sprinkle crushed walnut, raisins/craisins, almonds, etc, on top. Cover and rest for 30 - 60 minutes.
  11. Bake for 30 minutes at 180°C preheated oven.
  12. Take out from the pan and cool down on a wire rack.
