Cheese Bread Delicious Fluffy 

Dough

250g all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp sugar

1-1/2 tsp instant dry yeast

125ml warm milk

3 tbsp butter, melted.

1 large egg room temperature +  for egg wash


For the filling:

Sof butter or margarine to spread on the dough, as needed.

1 cup or more of grated Cheddar cheese 

1 stalk spring onion, chopped.

Some grated cheese for the sprinkle on top


Pan size: 20 cm in diameter 

Baking temperature: 180°C (350°F)

Baking time: 25 minutes, preheat the oven for 10 - 15 minutes before baking time.


Methods:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add flour and salt, mix briefly.
  2. Add the rest of the Dough ingredients. Mix uses a strong wooden spoon for about 5 minutes or we can use a mixer for 3 minutes.
  3. The dough should be smooth, soft, and sticky. This will make the bread soft and fluffy.
  4. Cover in a warm place for 90 minutes.
  5. On a floured surface, shape the dough into a ball. Handle lightly.
  6. Flatten into a thin about 40 cm in diameter. Spread with soft butter or margarine evenly.
  7. Sprinkle with grated Cheddar cheese and chopped spring onion.
  8. Cut the flat dough into 16 triangles. Roll up each slice into a croissant shaped.
  9. I use a non-stick springform pan 20 cm in diameter. If you use a regular pan please grease the pan with butter or cooking spray.
  10. Put the croissant-shaped dough in the baking pan, 9 pieces at the bottom, and 7 pieces on top.
  11. Cover for 30 minutes in a warm place. Egg wash and sprinkle with some of the grated cheese.
  12. Bake for 25 minutes at 180°C (350°F) preheated oven. An oven may vary.
  13. Loosen the sides with a spatula if the cheese sticks to the pan. Remove from the pan and let it cool.
